Visaic, Canada West Extend Partnership Through 2026

Enhanced Fan Experience Delivered Via Advanced Technologies, Connected TV Platforms

SAN DIEGO and COURTENAY, B.C. (August 15, 2023) -- The Canada West Universities Athletic Association (Canada West) and Visaic Inc., a technology leader providing SaaS video solutions using AI and machine learning to sports teams, leagues, conferences, and federations, have announced they are renewing and extending their partnership through the 2025-26 season.

The agreement will provide fans from Canada West’s 17 member schools with enhanced viewing experiences and expanded coverage on the conference’s streaming platform CanadaWest.TV.

Leveraging the innovative Visaic Interactive Platform, Canada West will enable fans of the association’s schools to watch all regular-season, playoff, and championship games in ice hockey, football, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Additionally, coverage of select rugby, track and field, curling, swimming and wrestling matches will also be provided.

“Extending our partnership with Visaic is a key milestone for us as we continue to invest in CanadaWest.TV and expose our growing audience to our member schools and athletes,” said Rocky Olfert, Managing Director of Canada West. “Besides the schools, our fans, alumnus and the community at large are all going to benefit too, thanks to our expanded reach and new fan engagement features.”

Canada West's partnership with Visaic will allow the conference to extend its reach and offer several feature enhancements. For the 2023-24 season and beyond, conference and various non-conference games will be available on popular Connected TV platforms, including Amazon Fire TV, Google/Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku.

The enhanced CanadaWest.TV service will also provide viewers the ability to interact with live and on-demand games by creating and sharing clips, viewing live statistics during matches, and personalizing their experience using the new favourites feature.

“We’re delighted to be continuing our partnership with Canada West and providing our audience in Western Canada and around the world with an evolved viewing experience,” said Visaic Inc. Co-Founder and CEO Kanaan Jemili. “Our advanced technology solutions and business models are designed to engage and grow Canada West’s audience, and I’m confident that’s exactly what our renewed partnership will deliver.”
